Bio

Candice Lin received her BA in Visual Arts and Art Semiotics from Brown University (2001) and her MFA in New Genres from San Francisco Art Institute (2004). Her practice utilizes installation, drawing, animation, and living materials and processes, such as bacteria, fermentation, and stains. Lin has had recent solo exhibitions at Whitechapel, London (2025-26), UCCA Clay, Yixing (2025), Jameel Art Centre (2024-25), MUMA, Melbourne (2024), and Canal Projects, New York (2023). Her work was included in recent international biennials including the 24th Biennale of Sydney (2024), the 14th Gwangju Biennial (2023), and the 59th Venice Biennale (2022). She is Associate Professor of Art at UCLA and lives and works in Altadena, California.
