Our Program
The Trellis Art Fund provides financial support to artists who demonstrate a trajectory of excellence, regardless of career stage, age, education, location, or commercial representation.
Each year, we award grants to artists who reflect a consistent, engaged practice. We have a particular interest in artists from historically underrepresented groups, as well as those working outside the commercial art market.
A diverse group of artists and arts professionals working across the country will nominate artists for consideration. These recommendations are anonymous, and only those who are nominated will be invited to apply for the grants.
Our jury will thoroughly review each application and select the final grantees. For each award cycle, a percentage of our grants will be reserved for artists who are active caregivers. This designation recognizes the particular challenges faced by artists at these demanding stages of life.
All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
Milestone Grants
Each year, 12 grant recipients will receive $100,000 — to be distributed over a two-year period.
These funds can be applied towards any purpose — without restriction or influence — from project-specific support to general professional needs.

This award is an acknowledgment of an artist’s sizable contribution to their area of focus. As such, it’s intended to provide them with the additional resources to plan their future pursuits.
