Bio

Vaginal Davis (born 1961, Los Angeles) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. Solo institutional presentations of her work include the travelling exhibition Magnificent Product at MoMA PS1, New York (2025); Gropius Bau, Berlin (2025); and Moderna Museet, Stockholm (2024); and The White to be Angry, The Art Institute of Chicago (2020). Her work has been featured in group exhibitions at Ridykeulous: Ridykes’ Cavern of Fine Inverted Wines and Deviant Video, Nottingham Contemporary (2023); Unbound: Performance as Rupture, Julia Stoschek Foundation, Berlin (2023); Subscribe: Artists and Alternative Magazines, 1970–1995, The Art Institute of Chicago (2021); Witch Hunt, The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2021); Minds Rising, Spirits Tuning, the 13th Gwangju Biennale (2021); and Trigger: Gender as Tool and a Weapon, New Museum, New York (2017). Recent solo exhibitions include The Wicked Pavilion, Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi and Eden Eden, Berlin (2021), among others.

Artwork
