Bio

Every Ocean Hughes (F.K.A. Emily Roysdon) is a transdisciplinary artist and writer. Solo shows include Whitney Museum of American Art, Studio Voltaire, Moderna Museet, Secession, and PARTICIPANT INC. She has received commissions for new work from Tate Modern, Stedelijk Museum, and The Kitchen. She’s participated in group exhibitions at Museum of Modern Art, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and many international biennials. She’s a frequent collaborator and co-founder of LTTR, a feminist genderqueer art collective and publication. Honors include a 2019 fellowship at the Harvard Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and residencies at Headlands Center for the Arts and Yaddo. In 2023 Hughes founded West Street Coaching to support, connect, and invest in creative lives.
